A $290 million company keeps its best asset in a recruiting ad.
United Electric Supply is 100% employee-owned. In everything the company says publicly about itself, that fact is addressed to people looking for a job — never to people deciding where to buy. Everything in this document follows from that.
Employee-owned. An ESOP, not a slogan.

The only words that function as a claim are “Wired for Excellence.” Any electrical distributor in North America could use that line tomorrow, and several already do something close to it. A claim a competitor can lift is not a position — it is decoration.
The company introduces itself through four internal brands: OnPoint Automation, Advanced Logistics, OnSite Services, Custom Products. Not one customer in the public record mentions any of them. Every positive review names a person or the counter. One of these is how the business is organised. The other is how it is experienced. They are not the same company.
Customers describe owner-behaviour at the counter. A meaningful share of employees describe an ownership structure that does not reach them — back-loaded shares, pay below industry, promotion by relationship, and an acquired branch two and a half years in that still says the parent company’s culture stopped at the state line. The position is real. The operating model is quietly billing against it.
unitedelectric.com refuses automated readers on the homepage, the About page and the Services page. Buyers increasingly ask an assistant to summarise a supplier before they ever visit. On the current configuration, those tools return nothing. The one page that does answer them is Careers — so the machine-readable version of this company is a job listing.
